Persephone
Rose just told me the lovely story about PERSEPHONE. We can smell Spring is in the air .....
n Greek mythology, Persephone /pərˈsɛfəniː/, also called Kore (the maiden) /ˈkɔəriː/,[1] is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest-goddess Demeter, and queen of the underworld. Homer describes her as the formidable, venerable majestic queen of the shades, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. Kore was abducted by Hades, the god-king of the underworld [2] The myth of her abduction represents her function as the personification of vegetation which shoots forth in spring and withdraws into the earth after harvest; hence she is also associated with spring and with the seeds of the fruits of the fields. Similar myths appear in the Orient, in the cults of male gods like Attis, Adonis and Osiris,[3] and in Minoan Crete.

Countryside
Escaping to the country for a couple of days is inspiring and refreshed my senses.
Taking my camera to capture the details which make me feel part of it all....

Charlie & friends
I don't know what started us off here at Nixie to meditating on Charlie Chaplin.
We just did. We are not the only ones to have been heavily influenced by his style...
Janelle Monet for instance is never far from the monochrome 'shabby gentile' look:
Janelle has said that her devotion to the style comes from her love of working people; she wants to feel connected to her working class roots and does so by donning her monochrome uniform everyday.
Start with your drab coke (or bowler) hat...
Get yourself a nice dress shirt with a pique front...
and a detachable collar...
These Comme des Garcon drop crotch trousers are not strictly traditional but they lend a certain jauntiness eh! what?
onto the tail coat; this is another Comme de Garcon item, it's got some feminine detailing to pretty things up...
You will need a bowtie...
try and get a proper one, it's not so hard to learn to tie & imperfections make things perfect, so have a go...
On the shoe front you can go a bit feminine with something like the mary janes above...
Or give yourself something clumpy and hard wearing like the classic Doc Martin 1461
& then you're ready to tip on the tightrope...
Njoy....
